Doemaine Deans
President/CEO
Doemaine, Bean as he is affectionately called, was born in Norfolk, VA and raised in Portsmouth, VA. He has over 20 years in the marine industry that began with HERC Products at the age of 19 where he found his love for gas-free and chemical cleaning. He remained with the company until 2009, when he transitioned to Progressive Environmental Services upon its inception. Doemaine became VP of Production in 2017. Under his leadership, the company has grown and is continuing to thrive. His areas of expertise include operations, general maintenance support, contracting, project management, strategic planning, scheduling, estimating, and budgeting. Doemaine has worked on countless vessels for the US Navy, Military Sealift Command, US Coast Guard, and MARAD, as well as civilian watercraft. Over the years he supervised and managed jobs in Hampton Roads, VA; San Diego CA; Mayport, FL; Yokosuka and Sasebo, Japan. Doemaine is a member of the Virginia Ship Repair Association, has completed various training courses and holds numerous certifications. In his off time, Doemaine loves to help out in his community through charity & mentorship. He’s also a life-long fan and season ticket holder of the Washington Commanders. Doemaine has a wife, three children, and 2 grandsons.
Jerry Baughn Jr.
Program Manager
Jerry joined the team in 2015 and brings nearly 35 years of engineering, management, and ship repair processes experience. A former Naval Officer, Jerry understands our clients and customers alike and is able to deal effectively with all levels of management, clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors. Jerry enjoys all sports, but his passion is NFL football, and he roots strongly for the team of his youth and birthplace, Washington Commanders (Redskins) and just as passionately for his Jacksonville Jaguars as he had lived in Jacksonville, Florida for over 20 years. Jerry has been married to his wife Jane for over 35 years and they have three grown sons and one beautiful granddaughter! Jerry and his wife currently reside across the border in Moyock, NC.
April McCowan
Office Manager/HR
April joined the team in 2018 and brings 20+ years of administrative, management, and security experience to CWS, including over 8 years of ship repair knowledge gained while employed as the Security/Pass Office Coordinator for MHI Ship Repair & Services. April also served 4 years in the US Navy as a Sonar Technician, and understands the unique relationship forged among active military, veterans, and civilians alike. An avid believer of laughter being good for the soul, April enjoys using humor to uplift others. She adores spending time with the love of her life, her beautiful children, & family, as well as cooking, movies, music, and sports; particularly the Super Bowl winning Philadelphia Eagles.
Trish Carter
Controller
Trish joined the team in 2014 and has 10+ years of accounting experience, including public and private accounting. She currently serves the team as the Controller. She is an ODU graduate with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration (Accounting major). She currently resides in Portsmouth with her husband and 3 little boys. She enjoys drawing and serving as a worship leader at church in her spare time.
Darin Moore
Chemical Cleaning Production Manager
Darin, known to everyone as Mo, joined the team in 2014 and has 20+ years of chemical & tank cleaning experience beginning with HERC Products. Prior to that, Mo served 8 years in the US Navy. Both careers allowed Mo to see the world and work in various locations including Sasebo, Japan, Rota, Spain, and Guam. Mo has also worked in various US Navy, Coast Guard, and private shipyards from coast to coast and can be relied upon to see a job through start to finish. When not working, Mo loves spending time with his family, which is the joy of his life.
Harold Scott
Tank Cleaning Production Manager
Harold has 20 +years in the gas-free, tank & chemical cleaning industry beginning with HERC Products in 2002. He worked diligently with the company, moving up to a supervisory role, and remained on as the company transitioned to Progressive Environmental Services in 2009. Harold has traveled to various locations such as Washington, California, and Florida utilizing his expertise to get the job done. Throughout the course of his career, Harold has mastered assessing the needs of the customer, balancing that with the day to day operation of the business, and ensuring all jobs are completed to task. Outside of the tank cleaning world, Harold has a vast array of hobbies including drawing, image designing, music production, and paint balling. Most importantly to him is spending time with his family and friends.
